Importing a template from Open Street Map
Here's my trail map overlaid on a georeferenced street map of Fremont, so you can see where I walked:
Importing from Open Street Map is very similar to other template work– I'll give an abbreviated tutorial here:
Go to openstreetmap.org.
Capture the area around where you walked on screen, then click the green "Export" tab.
This will open an Export menu. Click the blue "Export" button.
This will download a .osm file.
Now in Open Orienteering Mapper, open the .osm file as a georeferenced template (just like we did with the .gpx file earlier).
